Lee Brophy is from the capital town of Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland. He's a Zoologist, Voice Actor, Stand-up, Actor, Writer, Tour Guide, Performance Artist, and Clown. Yes, a Zoologist.
In 2012, Lee began taking comedy lessons in Hong Kong with Takeout Comedy and has since trained with The Annoyance Theatre, The Second City, Chekhov Studio Chicago, Beijing Improv, AUSA Comedy Society, Quids Theatre, Green Shirt Studio, Acting Studio Chicago, Chicago Physical Theatre and Such A Voice productions. Yes, a Zoologist.
He is currently working on a new Buffoon show with The Fruit Bunch troupe, an hour-long Second City Conservatory graduation sketch show, an SAIC Master's Project - A Star Wars Audio Drama, and as always, hitting the pavement of stand-up open mics in Chicago. Lee has performed theatre, stand-up, clown and improvised comedy in front of audiences around the world and specifically a sold out audience in a beautiful hutong in Beijing - ask him about that one sometime. He also teaches improv at the Improv Playhouse in Libertyville, IL, and leads beer tours in Chicago's Lincoln Park and South Loop.
When he's not acting or making people laugh, Lee can be found hanging around in an aerial circus studio in Chicago, swing dancing, writing, not eating dairy and checking reflective surfaces to see if his abs have come in.
